Poetry

One of poetry’s most unique and enduring qualities is the ability to reach for an approximation of an understanding of things that are beyond our abilities to neatly hold. Justice is a glimmering concept, full of idealism and a sense of perfection. But it isn’t that simple, if idealism and perfection could possibly be said to be simple. Considering Justice means dealing in the worst pain that people have ever known. Religions turn on it. Nations rise and fall through their practice and failure of it. Lives are broken. People and hopes are lost and mourned and buried. And sometimes, when we manage through Love, people and dreams are born, restored, and redeemed.
